I am a strong believer in honor, integrity, and morals. When Charlie Crist sat with Chris Wallace and said repeatedly that he will run as a Republican, I believed his story. And when he declared himself an Independent I cringed with disbelief. I am an Independent and have been for years. Self serving Charlie Crist gives my party selection/representation a bad stigma. Independents have a unique orientation to the topics/subjects and are not swayed by party politics. Charlie, you don’t fit this model! Self preservation is not an honorable characteristic. With Charlie aboard, I lose credibility. Also, I believe Charlie should return the contributions he received from his republican donors. I believe his decision is a dishonorable one and once again, a self-preservation issue. Charlie has tarnished the Independent Party! I am an Independent, I am nothing like Charlie!
The Florida legislature continues to pass a budget that does not address long term deficits. In the coming years, Florida is projected to have a 6 billion dollar deficit. Yet, we are doing nothing to address these deficits and continue to pursue a reactive approach versus a proactive approach. We are doing nothing to address escalating long term debt spending and continue to pass budgets that cover the next year and nothing further. I have no aspiration in inheriting a debt ridden state budget that requires complicated solutions. I welcome a challenge, but I do not welcome financial ineptness and self serving practices. Beware, Florida is in big trouble!
Politics is a dirty business. Everyone has personal agendas and constituent concerns are not a priority, rather an inconvenience. In order for me to succeed, I must respect those I work with. To date, I don’t respect many.
I have honor, integrity and morals. I will not demean my principles for an opportunity to represent my district. Politics is a dirty business and recruits more sketchy candidates; year after year.
I would encourage the public to educate themselves on the state issues and question their candidates on their views. We the public deserve a committed representation. At present, I believe we are getting less. Beware, Florida is in trouble.
