William Burda, MBA, PHR, LHRM

MBA- Masters in Business Administration

I have worked with a variety of companies on a myriad of operation's issues.  I have been responsible for companies ranging from 200K to 70M in revenues.  I understand the elements of production, performance, efficiencies, and outcomes.  I understand strategic management and MBO (management by objectives).  Budgets are a key element to any company's success and should require as much attention as the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow management.  All investments of capital should have a quantifiable return of its investment.  Don't throw money at an issue without defining an acceptable return of your investment!

PHR- Professional in Human Resources (Certification)

I have worked with a variety of companies providing an outsource HR (Human Resources) service.  An effective HR Professional has the expertise to assist team members in their development through training, mentoring, resource allocation, and peer development.  A company's culture is enforced through the actions of the HR department and recruiting process.  Company policies are enacted to produce accountability, limit risk exposure, define job responsibilities, roles, and requirements, and disciplinary actions to thwart unwanted behaviors.  Team management entails listening, devising solutions, working with others, and establishing trust in your role as HR leadership.

LHRM-Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager (State of Florida)

I began my healthcare career as an X-ray technologist in the US Army.  I spent 40 months in Germany working in a dispensary providing healthcare services to dependant families and military personnel requiring advanced care.  Upon return to the United States, I worked for several hospitals and eventually became a Hospital Administrator (Assistant Administrator of Clinical Operations).  In this role, I was responsible for overall operations of the hospital regarding department budgets, capital equipment acquisitions, medical staff issues, professional staff (licensing, staffing, and assignments), patient and family issues/concerns, and day-to-day operations.  I had always taken an interest in Risk Management and viewed this profession as an enforcer of hospital care practices and reports.  Because of this respect for accountability and protocol enforcement, I pursued and obtained an LHRM License.  The LHRM license is predominantly held by professionals with a nursing license.  I am not a nurse, but felt this license would complement my MBA and healthcare management experience.

Certified Roofing Contractor-State of Florida

I have always had an interest in the Construction Industry and actually pursued and achieved a contractor license.  I am able to connect with needs, requirements, and mandates within this industry.  There are some negative and questionable perceptions about the construction industry and I am here to tell you, some perceptions are valid and others may not be.  I am a strong proponent of accountability and providing a service or product that is of the highest quality and is warranted.

Conclusion

There are not many industries that I have not been exposed (200K-70M).  I consider my background as an asset since I have dealt with most industries on an operational basis and have identified their competencies, challenges, culture, and opportunities.
